- 1). Assess the situation. Make sure that you are truly right in the situation. Fighting a deserved speeding ticket is unethical and may end up wasting a great deal of your time. Put up a fight if you are certain that an error was made in giving you the citation.

- 8). Address the judge, the police officer and other witnesses with complete respect and kindness. Address your elders as "Sir" or "Ma'am" if you don't know their name. Use names when known.
