How to Get a Baby to Fall Asleep With Milk
- 1). Dim the lights and cradle your baby in a resting position in your arms. Rock him gently to encourage the baby to settle down from the day's activities. You may do this in a rocking chair next to your baby's crib so that you do not disturb him when moving him to his crib.
- 2). Place the bottle of milk in your baby's mouth and allow him to drink for several minutes. You can use milk that has been warmed in a pot of hot water or room-temperature milk. The temperature you choose depends on what you and your doctor have decided is best for your baby, though warmer milk may help a baby fall asleep quicker.
- 3). Rock your baby gently as they drink from the bottle. Continue to rock him until he falls asleep in your arms.
- 4). Remove the bottle from your baby's mouth and place him gently in the crib. Do not allow him to sleep through the night with his bottle, as this may cause tooth decay and other problems.
