- 1). Select a theme for the birthday card. Consider the recipient's taste. Focus on his hobbies and interests. Decide if you want the card to be serious or humorous.
- 2). Select some cover art for your card that corresponds with the chosen theme.
- 3). Fold your piece of card stock in half. Glue the cover art to the front of the card stock.
- 4). Write a greeting on a piece of craft paper.
- 5). Cut out your greeting and glue it to the front of the card in an area that will not obstruct the chosen cover art.
- 6). Open the folded card stock and add a picture to the inside of the card. This picture should somehow correspond with the cover art and the overall theme of the card.
- 7). Write a message on the inside of the card. It can be a continuation of the greeting or a simple "Happy Birthday."
- 8). Add any embellishments you would like to the card such as sticker, glitter, ribbons or anything else that fits with your card's theme. This step is optional.
