- 1). Visit the Norton Removal Tool link in the Resources section below, and save the file to your desktop.
- 2). Double-click the "Norton_Removal_Tool.exe" file on your desktop to open the application.
- 3). Review the warning. It states that existing Symantec applications will need to be reinstalled as part of the removal process and that your system must be restarted upon completion.
- 4). Click "Next."
- 5). Review the Norton Software Tool Usage Agreement, and click "I accept the License Agreement" if you agree to the terms. You must agree to proceed.
- 6). Click "Next."
- 7). Enter the "CAPTCHA" text on the screen. It will be a series of partially obscured letters.
- 8). Click "Next."
- 9). Review the warning. It states that you cannot stop the uninstallation process. Click "Next."

Wait as Norton Antivirus 2005 is stopped and removed. The application will scan your disk and remove Norton Antivirus 2005 from your registry and hard drive. - 11
Click "Finish" when the process has completed.
