She blew me away.
Once again, Claire Danes has proven to the world that she is a capable actress, someone completely at ease with her craft and delivers the expectation of the audience with her latest masterpiece, Temple Grandin.
Watching Claire Danes' portrayal of the lead character in the biopic magnum opus, it felt like going back in time and personally feeling how it is to grow up with autism.
Watching the movie, Claire Danes was totally hypnotic.
The audience did not see her: they saw the character she played.
Temple Grandin is a scientist who was able to overcome her handicap-autism.
Born in 1947, she was diagnosed with autism at the age of two and was nurtured by a nanny and caring teachers who helped developed her abilities to their full potential.
Temple found solace with animals and grew up to become an animal behaviorist, famous for her designs for humane slaughterhouses, most especially for cattle.
In her early life, Temple Grandin developed the "hugging machine," a device used to pacify hyperactive individuals.
In the movie, Claire Danes carries the audience to her grand solo interpretation of a character who still exists, like as if her career depended on this film.
Danes completely assumed the identity of her character and this is very much evident all throughout the film.
Even in her early career, Claire Danes has shown prowess and versatility in acting as proven by her Emmy Award for the same movie.
Even at a tender age, her exceptional skills in front of the camera led to her nomination for the Chicago Film Critics Association Best Supporting Actress and Chicago Film Critics Association Most Promising Actress for her participation in Little Women in 1994.
She was also nominated for Young Artist Award for Best Young Leading Actress for Home for the Holidays in 1995.
It is unfortunate that this movie was never eligible for the Oscar Awards because it was made for television release for HBO.
Temple Grandin probably represents the peak of Danes' acting skills.
This is where the audience would see her ability to fuse herself with her role.
Watching Temple Grandin makes the audience forget that it is Claire Danes.
Her performance takes the audience to new heights of drama-her voice, her ticks, just everything about her execution of the role was so natural, spontaneous, and impressive.
Claire Danes showed her ability to glue her audience to their seats, not wanting to bat an eye until she sang You'll Never Walk Alone.
