Side Effects of Advantage Flea Control
- Since Advantage is applied topically, it may cause skin irritation in both dogs and cats. Red or itchy skin may be noticed in some pets.
- Both dogs and cats may have oily-looking fur on the site of the Advantage application. This side effect usually dissipates after two to three days.
- Advantage is applied to your pet's back so he cannot lick it off. If your pet does manage to lick some of the product, it may cause excessive drooling in dogs and cats. If your pet ingests a large amount of Advantage, contact your veterinarian immediately.
- Advantage Multi may cause your dog to have a medicinal odor. This usually occurs directly after treatment and may fade after one to two days.
- Advantage Multi has been shown to cause agitation in some cats. This is frequently displayed as excessive grooming or pacing.
