    • 1). Place your fabrics right-side together and sew 1/4 inch from the edge along the two long sides and one short side with cotton thread.

    • 2). Turn your fabric right-side out and fold so that one side of fabric is on one side and the other fabric is on the back.

    • 3). Turn the remaining raw edge of fabric inside the tube 1/2 inch and pin down to encase it.

    • 4). Sew the encased end 1/4 inch from the edge with your cotton thread.

    • 5). Sew the remaining three sides 1/4 inch from the edges with cotton thread.

    • 6). Lay the fabric in front of you with one long side running parallel to your body.

    • 7). Pinch the fabric about 2 inches from the edge closest to you; overlap it to the edge, pinning it down at 1 inch from the short side of the fabric and again about 14 inches from the short edge creating your first pleat for your padded shoulder.

    • 8). Pinch the fabric about 4 inches from the fold and overlay it about 3/4 inch from the last fold you made. Pin it again at 1 inch and 14 inches.

    • 9). Pinch the fabric about 4 inches from the last fold you made and pin it about 3/4 inch from that fold and pin it as before. Repeat this to the end to finish all of your pleats that create your padded shoulder.

Sew a line across the pleats about 1 1/2 inches from the rings with upholstery thread and remove the pins.

    • 13

Sew another line alongside the first about 1/4 inch from it with upholstery thread. This will keep the rings in and the pleats neat.

    • 14

Sew a line of upholstery thread across the pleats about 6 1/2 inches from the rings and remove the pins.

    • 15

Sew another line either zig-zag or carefully straight along the edge of the pleats to keep them down and neat.

    • 16

      Trim all excess thread.
