Early Life and Initial Days of Career Born in Bijnor and brought up in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Bharadwaj has inherited his writing and musical instincts from his father, Ram Bharadwaj, a government employee and a popular poet and lyricist.
He met his wife, famous Singer Rekha Bharadwaj during his graduation days at Hindu College, Delhi University.
He started his career as a harmonium player for gazal singers and then he associated with Gulzar.
After working with Gulzar on TV serials like Jungle Book, Alice in wonderland and Gubbare, he also composed the music for Gulzar's movie "Maachis" and there was no looking back since then.
Career Music Director: The music of "Maachis" became a milestone in Vishal's career and bagged him The Filmfare R D Burman Award in 1996.
