How to Call for Roadside Assistance on Cell Phone

104 9
    • 1). Dial the number for your roadside assistance membership on your cell phone. The number depends on which cell phone provider you use and which roadside assistance plan you purchase. For example, if you have a Verizon Wireless roadside assistance plan, dial #ROAD. If you have an AT&T Wireless roadside assistance plan, dial #HELP. Call *611 from your wireless handset or look at the card that comes with your membership for details.

    • 2). Provide the representative with your roadside assistance membership number if needed and your name, so she can identify you. She may also ask for information like your home address and telephone number to confirm your identity.

    • 3). Give the representative information about your location, whether you are in a safe spot with your vehicle and what the problem is. Provide an exact address of your location for the representative, so she has a specific spot where she can send help. Tell the representative whether you need a tow truck to take your vehicle to a mechanic or whether you need a service vehicle to assist you.

    • 4). Listen for a confirmation number of your roadside assistance request from the representative and write it down. This is the number you need to provide customer service should the service crew not show up at the designated time or place. Listen for the time at which roadside assistance should reach you and make note of that time.
