Understanding Causes of Acne

103 6
Acne is a very common skin disease.
Many people have a lot of doubts and questions about this disease.
Let us discuss the important and most frequently asked questions here.
To begin with, as acne is a skin disease, a dermatologist is the first and best person who will be able to help you with your questions about acne.
Acne most commonly appears when a person acquires maturity or puberty.
At this stage of life, there are many hormonal changes that occur in the body.
The same hormones that cause maturity physically will also cause the skin oil glands to produce more oil.
These glands are called sebaceous glands and the oil produced by the skin is termed as sebum.
The hormones that are present both in males and females known as androgens are the basic causes of the increase in oil production in the skin.
There are some tiny skin pores from where the skin hairs come out from the inner skin.
After puberty, the sebum is produced in large quantities.
Sometimes, the skin pores are also blocked due to certain reason.
This results in the accumulation of sebum under the skin that results in the skin inflammation.
At this stage the bacteria attack on the trapped oil and keep on growing and multiplying.
As a result, many toxins are produced under the skin due to which the infection is caused and skin bumps out resulting in the spots formation on the skin.
This is the start of acne.
