Top Things to Do in Pembrokeshire During Autumn and Winter

Once the final quarter of the year sets in, visitors can be excited about a lot of great places and things to do while in Pembrokeshire. The season makes it very ideal to go around town and enjoy unique pub and shops. The legendary coastline of Great Britain remains majestic even during autumn and winter. Starting from the coastal footpath, there are several sites to see and activities to enjoy whether you're traveling alone or with a group.
1. Coastal walk. The Pembrokshire coastal footpath should always be on each tourist's itinerary. You can walk to Lydstep Caves or Lydstep Point, with a great view of the ocean and cliffs at your side. The best time to trek or bike along the coastline is from mid-afternoon until sunset. Amroth is considered as the starting point of the coastal path. You can enjoy walking through the woods of Tenby or spending some time on the sandy beach of Saundersfoot.
2. Pub hopping. When moving along the Pembrokeshire coastal path, there are several local pubs to try. Some of these have been serving guests for decades and feature their original delicacies and homemade brews. Lydstep Tavern is highly recommended for tourists. You can mingle with some of the locals and exchange stories over a pint of beer. The Lifeboat Tavern features an open fire and has a very traditional feel. The Five Arches Tavern is popular for its ale pie and steaks.
3. Restaurant hopping. Visit at least one restaurant each day to try a few traditional Welsh dishes. Waves is a famous dining place that serves great meals in traditional Welsh-style cooking. You can also try other new places in the area that features Welsh beef, pies and desserts.
4. Kids' entertainment. When traveling with the whole family, go to the Tudor Merchant House which is very educational for young children. Kids can try ancient costumes and play with toys. Visitors will learn more about the old Welsh way of life as well as purchase a number of souvenirs. Silent World Aquarium is also a great place for children. Situated in Tenby, families can see a variety of animals such as reptiles and insects.
5. Sightseeing. Go to Pembroke Dock which has a very rich history. Tourists will enjoy the stories of sailors and pilgrims entering the place via the dock in the past centuries. There is also the Sunderland Flying Boat Centre and Garrison Chapel. Visitors can enjoy architectural wonders by going to a few castles conveniently close to the area.
