Night of Champions 2014 Predictions
On September 21, 2014, WWE will be presenting Night of Champions 2014. This show will feature every title in the company up for grabs. The following are my predictions for this event. You can let me know what you think will be happening at the show on either my Facebook, Twitter, or Google + page.
Mark Henry vs. Rusev - This match features a two-time American Olympian battling a man that has been dedicating his matches to Vladimir Putin.
In addition to aggravating American fans due to his politics, Rusev has yet to be pinned or forced to submit. I'm predicting a repeat of the Olympics where Mark failed to win and as a result a foreigner celebrated. Predicted Winner: Rusev
Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton - Chris Jericho's return to the company will be a brief one as Fozzy is set to hit the road starting next week. Because of that, I see Jericho helping give Orton a push on his way out. The best way to do that would be to have The Viper unleashed once again by knocking Jericho out of action with a punt to the head. Predicted Winner: Randy Orton
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins - For those that don't know, Dean Ambrose is out of action due to an on-screen injury caused by Seth Rollins and Kane but in reality is filming a movie for WWE Studios. That movie has got to be wrapping up soon and because of that I think there is a good chance that Dean will make his return here when Kane interferes and tries to help Seth injure Roman.
Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns via DQ

Intercontinental Championship: Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz - At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man, back when I was growing up the Intercontinental Championship was a big deal and it was not uncommon for a match for that title to headline the WWE's biggest show of the month at Madison Square Garden. Sadly, I don't see either of these men as the restorers of the championship's pedigree. I don't think there is any long-term plan for either man, which is a shame, and that this one could go either way because of that. Based on a coin flip, I'm picking The Miz. Predicted Winner: The Miz
United States Championship: Champion Sheamus vs. Cesaro - As bad as the booking of the Intercontinental Championship has been, it has been even worse for the United States Championship and each of the men involved in this match. A few months ago, it looked like Sheamus was going to turn heel and join Evolution after the way he won the title. However, Daniel Bryan's injury announcement might have put a hold on those plans. These two men feuded over this title a few months ago and while the matches were good, the feud sputtered out as Paul Heyman stopped managing Cesaro. At that time, Cesaro looked like he was on the verge of becoming a major player for the company but creative destroyed all the momentum he had built up. Predicted Winner: Cesaro
WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Goldust & Stardust - While I've complained about creative in the prior two matches, I've enjoyed the transformation of Cody Rhodes into Stardust and have also enjoyed the storyline leading to this match. The Usos have been on a roll lately but I foresee their winning ways coming to an end as the sons of Dusty Rhodes regain the title. Predicted Winners: Goldust & Stardust
WWE Divas Champion Paige vs. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella - The recent issues between AJ Lee and Paige have gotten a little bit outside the safe kiddie zone the WWE has fallen into. For the past few months they have been flipping the titles back-and-forth from one another. Having them both in the role of challenger adds a new twist to the angle and also elevates the title in the storylines. Nikki Bella as champion brings her feud with her sister into the mix as well as Stephanie McMahon and the rest of The Authority. Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena - For many years, John Cena has been compared to Super Man. When sales of the comic were slumping, DC killed the character off then had several people make a claim for the throne before Super Man made his triumphant return. In this version of a comic book come to life, I see Brock Lesnar portraying the role of Doomsday and he will kill Cena's credo of "Never Give Up" by forcing him to tap out. Predicted Winner: Brock Lesnar
