The Problem With Doing Business On Facebook

103 27
The problem with doing business on Facebook is that it is simply not a business zone.
It is absolutely inappropriate to do business directly on Facebook.
Facebook is a place to socialize, meet like-minded people, and build relationships.
Keep it social.
Keep it fun.
It's okay add a link to your personal blog or website, and what happens from there is open for business.
But promoting your business directly on Facebook is not going to bring in many clients.
People do business with people they know, like and trust.
So build those qualities first, and later, once you have become friends, you can introduce other things outside the Facebook platform.
If you look at most of the people on Facebook who are attracting large groups you will notice that they are not spamming their company link around.
Their strength lies in building relationships and giving value.
The universe will always rewards those who are generous.
So even though it may seem counter-productive, try to focus on giving things of value away for free.
Whether that is information, an ebook, or general advice, people appreciate and remember the ones who help them.
Have you ever received a message from someone saying "check out my new ebook...
only $29.
95 until tomorrow at midnight...
get it while you can...
"? Not very appealing is it? But what about if that same person wrote "Hi Rebecca, We seem to have a lot in common.
I always enjoy meeting like-minded entrepreneurs.
Barb".
That may be the start of something that could potentially build in the future.
You would be amazed at how many 'friends' I have made who started out as strangers, but through conversations like this, have bloomed into amazing online friendships.
So go have some fun on Facebook and have a great personal blog that people can go to if they choose.
