This is where they were talking about the billions of dollars that people spend each year and find themselves in a dilemma because they decided to use an unlicensed contractors.
I wanted to make sure as a Realtor,Consultant and ASP that everyone knows the risk of using an unlicensed contractors.
With the current economic conditions, we are experiencing more and more unqualified people stating they are contractors.
Many of you may be doing remodeling projects.
It is in your best interest that you always ask for a person's license and it is even better check to see if they are bonded and insured.
Many people don't understand that just because someone say's they are a contractor they may not have the credentials to go along with the profession.
A true professional will give you their information upon request.

Today's segment stated how many homeowners would be scammed out of thousands because they would be required to pay half-down on a project by a non-professional.
Only to find out that their "down-payment" has been used for other purposes.
In fact, you may never see this person again! Also, please be forewarned that if an unlicensed contractor is doing work on your home and they have an accident you could be held liable for this accident!! Something to think about the next time you go to hire someone for a job.
