      Honda Motor Company was founded in 1948, and the company initially began by producing strictly motorcycles. Honda began producing its Shadow line of motorcycles in 1983, and still produces them today. They are built in the fashion of a cruising motorcycle, and their engine sizes range from 125 cubic centimeters to 1,800 cubic centimeters. The Shadow 1100 was last produced in 2007.

    Engine Specifications

    • The Honda Shadow 1100 has a 45-degree, V-twin, 1,099-cubic-centimeter engine. This engine is four stroke, and is capable of producing 58 horsepower at 2,500 revolutions per minute. The cylinder bore has a diameter of 87.5 millimeters, and the piston stroke length is 91.4 millimeters. The engine is liquid cooled, and features two constant-velocity 36-millimeter carburetors. The ignition system is digital and the starting system is electronic. The Honda Shadow 1100 is only available with a five-speed manual transmission.

    • The front suspension on the Honda Shadow 1100 is a 41-millimeter fork that allows the wheel to travel 6.3 inches.
