Toyota Avalon 2004 Specs
- The 2004 Toyota Avalon was part of Toyota's second generation of Avalons, and was also the last second generation model. It was available in either the XL or XLS model, and although the XLS was more luxurious, both models came with the option of having bucket or bench seats. The 2004 Avalon featured small upgrades in horsepower and torque over earlier models, and was slightly larger as well.
- All 2004 Avalon models featured a 3.0L V6 engine, equipped with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. Horsepower and torque were increased slightly over previous models, though the 2004 Avalon's 210 hp was only slightly higher than the 192 hp of the 1995 model. Torque was rated at 298 N·m, while the earliest Avalon models from the mid-90s had a torque rating of 290 N·m. All 2004 Avalons featured automatic transmission and averaged 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
- The wheelbase of the 2004 Avalon was 107.1 inches. This has remained unchanged since the first production model. However, the 2004 Avalon was slightly wider and longer than its predecessors. With a height of 57.1 inches, a length of 191.9 inches, and a width of 71.7 inches, the 2004 Avalon was larger than earlier models, though only by about an inch in each direction.
- A number of options were available for the 2004 Avalon. Consumers could choose from built-in navigational systems, 15 or 16-inch alloy wheels, a JBL sound system, as well as dual-climate control. Front bench seats were available for both the XL and XLS models, which allowed seating for six people.
