The Danger of Just One Step in the Right Direction
I call it a "sudden inspiration or understanding" as if a light bulb suddenly turns on and you have light now that you have never had before about a particular thing.
It seems so easy now and you wonder how you have gone this long without having this incredible understanding.
After you get new light in a particular thing that God has told you to do, it is easy to get excited about where He will lead and the great things that will happen in the future.
But God does not get in a hurry for anyone here on earth, and sometimes things start out with a "bang" and then seem to fizzle out after a short time.
That does not mean, though, that you are to quit doing something just because it seems nothing is happening.
When you have started in the right direction but don't see instant results, it is easy to lose momentum.
First make sure that God has told you to do what it is that you have taken the first steps at.
Then once you know that, keep at it even thought it might seem that you are just plodding along day after day and accomplishing nothing.
If you are walking in accordance with Gods plan, you are making progress whether you can see it or not.
He does things totally different than you.
When you only take a few steps and then stop because it seems that things are too hard, you will be miserable by knowing that you should have followed through and will always wonder what would have happened if you had kept at it.
Anything you start that is really worth something will always take time, effort and patience to accomplish and see through to the end.
Growth into a mature and grounded person usually takes much more time than we would like.
There are very few "instant" fixes that are able to solve a problem for the long run, even though that is what most of us like to try first.
Even if it feels more like "plodding" than actually "accomplishing" something, don't quit if you know that God has told you to do something.
God can see the end of the tunnel and knows exactly where He is leading you.
Don't miss what God has for you because you are tired of waiting and give up too soon.
When times are tough, ask Him to give you faith and encouragement to keep pressing forward.
He will always give you exactly what you need at just the right time.
