Girls may accumulate a large clothing collection in a variety of sizes that they will likely never wear. - Give girls a fun and decorative notebook or journal in which to write their daily activities and tasks. Encourage them to begin or end their day by writing out a list that will help them stick to a plan. Keeping the list on a nightstand by their bed or on their desk will help them to remember to update their list.
- Post a wall calendar in your teenage girl's room to help her to keep track of important dates. Encourage her to decorate the calendar with markers, glitter or other material prior to hanging to personalize the calendar and place colored markers nearby to encourage her to use the calendar to organize her activities. Purchase multicolored sticky notes in different shapes to post on the calendar with important information your teen girl needs to remember.
- Using a compartment organizer for homework, mail or other materials can help your teenager learn organizational skills. Pick colors that fit into your teenage girls decor and have her label each compartment individually. Let her decorate with pretty stickers or colors.
- Multi-colored bins in different sizes will help your teen girl organize items such as stuffed animals, shoes, books, CDs or other materials that might otherwise get thrown on the floor. Place bins in your teen's room in specific areas to help her organize room contents. Place hooks on the walls for hanging coats and keys and add closet space by installing a closet organizer.
