Chaos, Anarchy, and Obama

Former United Nations ambassador John Bolton recently observed that because of our president's leadership deficits, "the world's descending into chaos," a chaos that could result in anarchy should America continue to retreat from its responsibilities.

Ambassador Bolton was referring to foreign affairs but his ominous warning could apply equally to the incipient, chaotic, domestic anarchy on America's horizon attributable to the commander in chief.

My bride of 46 years believes that she would prefer not to live in interesting times, referring to the supposedly apocryphal, ancient Chinese curse which may be based on a Chinese saying that it's "better to live as a dog in an era of peace than a man in times of trouble." (Wikipedia)

Both interpretations amount to the same thing, namely that "interesting times" pretty much equates with the idea that even mongrels are better off living their lives in peace rather than human beings living amid conflict.

Apocryphal or not, the times Americans are currently living in and enduring are times that could certainly be characterized as "interesting" as well as unprecedented, a period in history during which most of us may not yet exactly be living like dogs, (which the Chinese eat, along with cats), but which can readily be categorized as troubling for anyone relatively conscious of the world we live in and liberal-leftists are easily the chief contributing factors to our disturbing, interesting times and our troubled minds.

When officials in the Obama administration and supposedly erudite pundits and other members of the intelligentsia pursue policies, make statements and allegations at variance with reason, should we blindly accept their obviously radical ideas and decisions? What if they are spewing opinions so far removed from the realm of truth, are we still expected to listen up and heed them?

I think not. However, judge for yourself:

--A member of the U.S. Army Band said he was forced out of the U.S. Army for various "offenses," including displaying anti-Obama bumper stickers on his car, serving non-politically correct chicken sandwiches at a party celebrating his promotion and reading books written by conservative writers such as Sean Hannity.

Master Sergeant Nathan Sommers, a decorated, 25-year military veteran, was effectively cashiered by Obama's Army lackeys due to his conservative religious beliefs, especially his endorsement of traditional marriage.

--The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, a department led by Obama's hand-picked Chicago crony Arne Duncan who has never taught a class in America's schools, is "investigating allegations that the state of Florida utilizes criteria for determining eligibility for college scholarships that have the effect of discriminating against Latino and African-American students on the basis of national origin and race."

Those discriminatory criteria? The SAT-I and ACT scores, now suspected of racist intent because the scores on those standardized tests filter out minority students. Unstated by Sec. Duncan's department: Minorities tend to be less-educated, less-motivated, and less-qualified for taxpayer-funded scholarships, ergo Florida's standards must be racist.

--In July, Salon.com, an ultra-avid Obama Internet supporter, published what can best be described as an expression of religious intolerance, at worst an exercise in vile anti-Christian bigotry rarely seen outside the Muslim world.

The article written by Alternet's Valerie Tarico attacked evangelical Christians as abusers and murderers of homosexuals, subjugators of women, destroyers of the Earth, opposers of children rights, and promoters of a holy war.

Ms. Tarico begins her invective by ridiculing the idea that Christians are or ever have been persecuted, explains that the Bible "instructs parents to hit their children," and accuses evangelicals of elevating religion above secular laws, and thereby "cost[ing] children their lives."

Discriminating against MSG Sommers, labeling fair education standards as racist, and maligning Christians are just a some instances of how Obamians are deceiving Americans into thinking we still have a military worthy of respect, that objective standards are racist, and that slandering religious people is perfectly acceptable-as long as those people aren't Muslims.

Despite all the stiff competition from his lackeys in government and in his mainstream media, President Obama has established himself as far and away the leader of the lib-lefty pack when it comes to distorting the truth.

In fact, in five years, seven months, from his early lies regarding transparency and promoting a "race neutral" society to his Obamacare whopper that Americans could keep the same doctors and medical coverage if they liked them to the president's ridiculous claim that our borders have never been more secure, Obama has shown a truly amazing contempt for what's true and what's real.

The president's latest excursion into his private Land of Make-Believe must be regarded as among his most blatant lies.

Obama initially campaigned for the highest office in our great nation in part on a pledge to withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq. He satisfied his constituents and proudly fulfilled that promise in 2011 by bugging out, on his time table, and left that war-torn country on the precipice of turmoil while boasting, "We're leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq."

Yet, after Iraq took a death dive off that precipice and began disintegrating into chaos this year, America's Supreme Leader denied all reponsibility and alleged, as per habit, that, Nah, bugging out wasn't his idea and that it's all George W. Bush's fault.

It's debatable whether Obama has truly lost his mind or whether he simply can't distinguish reality from fiction. Either way, he and his supporters almost daily reinforce the view that both the world and America are perched on the edge of moral and political anarchy, a fate they seem to relish.
