Twitter For Profit - Keeping Your Customers
So, you know about Twitter, the latest booming social network phenomena.
You might even have created an account.
Let's say you have even picked up a few followers and you finally have in your mind a message, what you want to send - and sell to get that profit rolling in.
Good old Twitter forces you to be concise in your message by definition, remember you are working with just 140 characters to get your point across.
If you can still waffle in that time, I am impressed! Perhaps you are a politician of some kind...
That difficult bit is of course keeping people following and listening to your messages - and I think I have found a key to this.
Have you ever been to a football game and been the unlucky one stuck next to the guy banging the drum? The pounding is relentless.
It drives you mad.
Soon it becomes difficult to focus on what you are watching, or anything at all.
Now think about that in a sales context.
If all you do is bang a drum, you just give people a headache.
They won't actually like you very much either.
I say "get to give".
If you have followers, take time to interact with them - remind them there is a human there! If something out of the ordinary or hilarious has happened to you, let them know! Most people would rather deal with another person than a robot.
The other aspect of "get to give" is perhaps rewarding your more loyal followers.
Think discounts, or maybe even special events.
The computer giants Dell did this by reduced price special offers to their Tweeters.
The reward they got was a cool $1mn in sales.
So do unto others and remember that behind every PC is a person.
Your chances of making money can only go up.
