Steve goes behind the bar and quietly reminds Abe of the favor he previously mentioned. He asks Abe to run Ava Vitali through the police computer. A suspicious Abe agrees to do it a favor. Caroline sits down with Victor and admits that she’s never known him to be at a loss for words. He smiles at how he just has too many words that he doesn’t know what to say. “Well ‘I’m sorry Caroline’ seems to be the phrase of the day,” she laughs.

Victor expresses his sympathy and admits that he never stopped caring for Shawn as a friend. “Well you know, I always loved him,” Caroline reminds him. She admits to being in love with two men at one time, but knew she had to build her life with one man. Victor is glad to hear that she loved him once. She confirms that she did, but it was wrong. “Something wonderful came out of it,” says Victor. Max then calls for everyone’s attention and professes to have loved Pop. He reminisces over how good, strong, and honest his pop was and how he made Max feel special. He makes a toast to the man who took him in, loved him, and raised him. Max then recites an Irish poem of his own. “Cruel death, the young leaves droop and anguish. The evening’s breeze will restore. The morning sunrise mocks my anguish. Time for him will blossom, never more.” The gang makes a toast to Pop.

The mood is lighthearted as Belle then recites one of Grandpa Shawn’s Irish toasts, which impresses everyone. Roman states how some say the glass if half-full and some say it’s half-empty.

“The Irish say, ‘Are you gonna drink that?’” This elicits laughter from the gang. “May the Lord hold you in his hand, but never clench his fist too hard,” Philip declares with a gorgeous smile. EJ then dons an Irish accent and does a “Let’s get drunk and go to heaven” toast, which makes everyone laugh. He then tells an Irish Whiskey joke. “An Irishman is never too drunk, as long as he can hold onto a blade of grass and not fall off the edge of the world,” announces Nick. “Fathers, hold your children’s hands for just a little while, but hold their hearts forever,” says Victor. Caroline happily makes a toast about golden gladness that lasts forever after.

Bo is back in his hospital room with Steve by his side. He thanks his friend for being there and encourages him to head back to the pub, insisting that Kayla needs him. Steve reluctantly complies to Bo’s wishes. He approaches a nurse and asks her to take good care of his friend. The nurse goes to check on Bo and intends to hook him up to the monitors, but is alarmed to discover that Bo has gone into cardiac arrest. She calls for Dr. Carver, who yells at her to get the crash cart. A relieved Lexie is able to revive Bo and orders the nurse to hook him up to the monitor and start an IV.

Hope later arrives by Bo’s side at the hospital and regrets letting him go to Pop’s wake. Shawn and Chelsea arrive, where Hope informs them that Bo went into cardiac arrest, but he’s stable now. Hope berates herself for letting Bo go to Pop’s wake. Lexie then enters with Bo’s test results. She painfully reveals that Bo’s pancreas is starting to shut down little by little. “So what does that mean?” questions Chelsea. “It means, if it shuts down altogether, he’ll die,” previews Lexie. Hope is crestfallen upon hearing this.

Anna arrives at DiMera Advertising and knocks on Tony’s office door, then enters when nobody answers. She sits in Tony’s chair and looks over his papers. Tony’s secretary approaches Anna and asks if she can help her. Anna assumes that the attractive young woman is Tony’s latest conquest and reveals that she’s his ex-wife. Additionally, Anna claims that she’s one of Tony’s long list of ex-secretaries. “Tony takes the word dictation to a whole new level,” insinuates Anna. “Has he given you the birth control talk?” questions Anna, who lies about how many assistants Tony has gotten pregnant. Anna lies how Tony threatened to fire her unless she performed the duties required. She continues to make Tony look bad by claiming that Tony gets bored very easily, then puts on crocodile tears rehashing how Tony divorced her.

Tony returns to his ad agency to find his secretary quitting on him. “When were you going to give me the birth control talk?” she inquires. “Well I thought you would’ve had that talk when you were in sixth grade,” replies a confused Tony. “You pervert!” she exclaims before she quits.

Anna returns to her ad agency and discovers the note from Tony. She rips it up after reading it. Tony later finds the scheming Anna at her desk and grabs her and plants a forced kiss on her.

Ava later arrives home and looks over pictures of Steve, Belle, Chloe, Philip, Bo, Kayla, Grandpa Shawn, among others before finding Hope’s picture. “So, you love Patch. That’s a big, big mistake,” warns Ava.
