Looking closely on human anatomy, the middle ear is comprised of the tympanic membrane or in layman's term it is called as the eardrum, and the chamber that houses the ossicles which connect the inner ear and the eardrum.
The inner ear is composed of two parts, namely: the cochlea and the vestibular system.
Does Everyone Have a Cochlea?!? The cochlea is deemed as the hearing organ while vestibular system is regarded as the organ of balance.
Utricle, semicircular canals, and the saccule all belong to the vestibular system.
The inner ear serves as the transducer as it changes mechanical sound wave to electrical signal which traverse towards the brain through the statoacoustic nerve, while the middle ear functions as the sound amplifier.
Any middle ear disorder can verily affect the inner ear and the same can be said with that of an inner ear disorder.
So How Does This Explain My Condition? A lot of individuals bear inborn inner ear disorder.
However, such condition is not only congenitally acquired but may also be attained through several manners.
A genetically acquired inner ear disorder may mean that other family members such as sibling, parents or grandparents may also be suffering from the same condition.
You may be sharing similar fears with one or two members of your family as brought upon by presence of this predicament.
Furthermore, inner ear dysfunction may be caused during the development of the baby while inside the womb.
