Blonde Faith By Walter Mosley

It is hard to envision Easy Rawlings as being down and out but this is how he appears in Walter Mosley's latest novel.
In Blonde Faith, we see a very different Easy Rawlings compared to the man we know.
His emotional state comes through loud and clear.
Things have not been going very well for Easy and his feeling of depression is not getting any better.
Rawlings is spending his time trying to track down two of his friends.
One is Ray Mouse Alexander who is running from a murder charge and the other is Christmas Black, a Vietnam veteran, who is involved in illegal activities and now fears for the safety of his daughter.
That explains why Easy comes home and finds Easter, Christmas Black's daughter, at his house.
The main thing that has Easy depressed is that his ex-girlfriend, Bonnie, calls to tell him that she plans to remarry.
He wonders why he keeps thinking about Bonnie.
When the phone would ring he thought maybe it was her.
When he heard a knock at the door, he thought maybe she was coming back.
Why would she? After all, Easy is the one who pushed her away.
As Easy begins his search to find his two friends, he finds himself in many dangerous situations as he comes across drug dealers, corrupt officials and many other types of criminals.
What happens when Easy meets a woman named Faith? Could she hold the key to finding Mouse and Christmas? We all know Easy Rawlings very well.
He will always get the job done no matter what it takes.
Walter Moseley does an excellent job of adding a great deal of humor into Easy's storylines.
This novel has several different things going on at the same time and the author does a good job of tying everything together to make the reader feel Easy's emotional state as he goes through his search.
Blonde Faith has a very surprise ending.
It is almost like a hint to the reader but an outcome I hope does not happen.
Then again, did Walter Mosley just leave us "hanging" until the next book? We will not know until that time comes.
He is a very clever writer and what we might think could end up being the opposite of what might happen! Be sure to add "Blonde Faith" to your reading list.
Walter Mosley is a writer who is very talented.
