LA based private detective Regan Reilly gets a call for help from her childhood friend Danny, who is now trying to produce a reality TV show.
Danny is producing "Love above the Sea" a reality show where three married couples get to renew their wedding vows in a hot air balloon on live TV.
But someone doesn't want this show to proceed, someone is trying their level best to sabotage the shoot and make matter worse for Danny.
As Regan lands in Las Vegas, she finds out that Danny's show is in competition with a sitcom for a permanent slot on TV, both being supervised by Roscoe from the Balloon Channel.
Regan's job here is to find out who is creating all the trouble and why? Danny receives a threatening letter in the morning, and then one of contestant's falls and sprains his hand, that contestant then tries to bribe the doctor to put on a cast and say bone is fractured; the wife of that contestant earns $40,000 in a slot machine by evening.
Danny's parents travel down to Las Vegas on a hitch that Danny is in some trouble and end up in the entire mess even badly, creating further more trouble for themselves and for their son.
This doesn't end here, some mails are stolen, the contestant who won at the slot machine goes missing...
Who is behind all this? Is it the doing of Bubbles, the producer of the sitcom, "Take me Higher" or someone from within Danny's crew? Bubbles on the other end is having troubles of her own with the cast she has been given for the sitcom, James cannot act at all, but considers himself a great actor, Pete is scary at times, coming up with suggestions to kill James, driving Bubbles even more crazy...
As the story unfolds, it gets even more interesting and not a single clue is given out...
Everyone is a suspect, everyone seems to be fake and everyone is driving all others crazy.
In middle of it all author manages to dole out a wonderfully written, funny to the core suspense thriller.
The ending is the most befitting one after the entire chaos in the story, after everyone, being under Regan's scanner and everyone being proven guilty of something or the other.
Story has many twists and turns and never leaves the reader feeling bored or unattached.
It's an mild comedy and a good relaxing read for sure.
