I have been searching around for some aircraft engine parts because I have just bought a new plane and it needs some work doing to it.
I am lucky in that I know someone who can help me do the work on the plane as I know nothing about doing it myself.
It will be really great working with him.
He is happy to show me what to do and work with me and actually let me have a go at it.
This should be fantastic as it means that if things go wrong with it again or if I decide to buy another plane that needs work, I might have the confidence to tackle to work on my own.
I have had to call him today, just to ask him where to buy the parts that we need from.
He has given me a long list of things that I need to buy but I have failed at the first hurdle! I have now found the pilot shop which is the place that he always uses to buy the things that he needs and so I am very confident that it I a good place to shop.
I am searching around for all of the things on the list.
I know that it would have been easier for me to have got him to do this for me but I want to learn about all aspects of it.
I know that there will be several brands of the same product and I want to find out whether I am good at being able to tell which might offer the best value for money.
I am finding it great fun, looking through all of the things that are available.
I must admit that I am taking ages doing it because I have been distracted by the aviation GPS and I want one and so am choosing one before I complete the rest of the items on the list.
I also keep looking at items and imagining how they might work in my plane, what they do to help it to work and basically how it all fits together.
I guess I will learn a lot more when I actually start the repairs but it is really exciting thinking about it all.
I suppose the quicker I order the items, the quicker I can get on with it so I should stop typing now and actually get on with it!
