How to Troubleshoot "A Script on This Page Is Causing Internet Explorer to Run Slowly"

    • 1). Close Internet Explorer, and the click on the "Start" button in your task bar. Type "regedit" into the "Start" menu's search box. Click on the "Regedit" icon when it appears in the "Start" menu. The "Registry Editor" utility will launch.

    • 2). Expand the "HKEY CLASSES ROOT" folder in the "Registry Editor" -- click on the "+" symbols next to each folder to expand the contents of the selected item.

    • 3). Expand the "Software" folder, and the "Microsoft" folder beneath it. Expand the "Internet Explorer" folder, and then click on the "Styles" folder.

    • 4). Right-click in the "Registry Editor" right window. Highlight the "New" option in the pop-up that appears. Click on the "DWORD (32-Bit) Value" option in the pop-up. "New Value #1" will appear in the "Registry Editor" right window.

    • 5). Rename the "New Value #1." Right-click on the value, and then select "Rename" from the pop-up that appears. Rename the value "0xFFFFFFFF." Close the Registry Editor to apply your changes.
