Who goes to the store any more? Sign up, log on, click click click, Mr. Postman brings you a flick. We live in a world of online DVD rentals now and, honestly, we're better off for it. No more (well, rarely) "We don't have it right now" or "We don't carry that movie." Gah! Let's take a look at the only two games in town: Netflix and Blockbuster (really, they're still around).
Netflix
You make a list of DVDs and available titles from the list are delivered to you by mail.


You return DVDs by mailing them back in prepaid envelopes.

You can choose a streaming-only plan, a DVD-only plan, or to subscribe to both.
  • 2 DVDs a month: 4.99
  • 1 DVD at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: starting at 7.99
  • 2 DVDs at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: starting at 11.99
  • 3 DVDs at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: starting at 19.99
  • The unlimited streaming plan is $7.99 a month (two devices at a time)

Blockbuster Total Access

Here are the Blockbuster Total Access rental plans:
  • 1 DVD at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: 9.99
  • 2 DVDs at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: 14.99
  • 3 DVDs at a time, but as many as you can watch per month: 19.99
