- 1). Remove any protective equipment that you may have on your Palm Zire 72s.
- 2). Place the Palm Zire 72s on a flat surface with the back side up.
- 3). Remove all the screws by using the T5 screwdriver. Remove two screws from the bottom of the Zire 72s and the one screw at the top that is holding the mesh covering in place.
- 4). Remove the outer mesh cover on the Palm Zire 72s, and then pry apart the cover of the device by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to wedge it open.
- 5). Detach the wires from the battery of the Palm Zire 72s, which is located at the top of the PDA in the back.
- 6). Remove the old battery from the Palm Zire 72s device and set it aside.
- 7). Put the new battery in the same spot that the old battery was in.
- 8). Attach the white wires to the battery by pushing the wire down into the connecting spot.
- 9). Place the cover of the Palm Zire 72s back onto the PDA and push it down with your fingers. Use the T5 screwdriver to replace the screws that you removed. Reattach the Mesh by placing it on the Zire 72s and screwing the top screw into place.

Charge the new battery of your Zire 72s up to three hours so that the battery is fully charged.
