- 1). Unplug the Sony multi-disc changer from the electrical outlet and disconnect the AV cables from the jacks on the back of the unit. For CD players, there will be two audio cables to remove. For DVD multi-disc changers, a third video cable must also be disconnected.
- 2). Remove the multi-disc changer from your stereo rack or media storage unit and place it on a flat surface in a well-lighted area where it will be easier to work.
- 3). Remove the screws holding the case cover to the back and sides of the changer.
- 4). Lift the cover off the case. In some cases, the cover will lift straight up and off, while in others you might have to slide it back a little before lifiting it up and off.
- 5). Avoid touching any component inside the case while removing or rearranging discs or undertaking any sort of maintenance to the changer.
- 6). Replace the cover on the case and secure it with the screws.
- 7). Reconnect the AV cables to the changer, matching the colors on the jacks on the unit to the plugs on the ends of the cables.
- 8). Plug the changer back into the electrical outlet, then check for normal operation.
