How to Convert an XM Home Dock Output Cable to an 8 Pin Mini DIN Cable
- 1). Set up your XM Home Dock. You will need to plug the power adapter into a wall socket and place the Home Antenna where it can receive a clear XM signal. You can test the signal strength by docking your XM Radio into your XM Home Dock. It will have a signal bar telling you how strong the XM signal is. Adjust your antenna until you have two or preferably three bars.
- 2). Plug the RCA cables that came included with your XM Home Dock into the output jack on the rear of the dock. This jack is marked "Audio Out."
- 3). Plug the red and white RCA jacks from the XM Home Dock into the red and white RCA sockets of the Sony RC-70 Audio-Video Adapter.
- 4). Plug the 8 Pin Mini DIN Cable of the Sony RC-70 Audio-Video Adapter into the appropriate input socket of your home audio system. You may need to switch the channel of your home audio system to "Aux" or the appropriate input.
- 5). Turn up the volume of your home audio system. You should be able to hear XM Radio through your speakers. If not, check the connection and your XM signal. Consult the XM Home Dock User Guide if you are unable to solve the issue.
