How to Search For DishNet Satellites
- 1). Press the "Program" button on your satellite receiver remote. This opens the programming screen on your television.
- 2). Use the "Up/Down" arrow buttons on the remote to scroll to the "Satellite Settings" option, and then press the "Enter" button.
- 3). Select the "Satellite Scan" option, and then press "Enter." This next screen shows the degree settings for the available DishNet satellites for your area. Take note of the "Elevation" and "Azimuth" settings. These settings are used to adjust the measurement rulers on the dish antenna assembly.
- 4). Loosen the adjustment nuts on "Elevation" and "Azimuth" rulers on the main dish antenna assembly. This allows you to slide the assembly in the direction of the satellites -- up and down, left and right. Move the assembly until the measurements and the adjustment ruler match the degree measurement you got from the satellite setting screen. Tighten the adjustment nuts to fix the assembly in place.
- 5). Select the "Satellite Scan" option again. Then press "Enter." This time, the receiver runs the scan and returns with a screen showing the satellite signal strength at "Weak" or "Strong." If the signal strength does not show "Strong," loosen the adjustment nuts on the antenna assembly and slowly move the antenna until the signal screen reads "Strong."
