Many folks are interested in the rapture of the church. They want to know when and how it will happen and who will be raptured. Bible Prophecy has it's root and foundation in the history of the world, both Biblically and within the discoveries of archeology.
The purpose of prophecy is to reveal the testimony of Jesus Christ and to reveal His eventual return to set up His Kingdom. It is certain that Jesus Christ will return. But when? How? What will be the signs of His coming?
When will we see the end of the world. What does it mean? The End? Will it be like the movies? What does the Bible say about the end of the world?Many people will be on the planet at the time of the end, but we are talking about the end of the age first, not quite the end of the world. I don't think that the end of the age will be like the fictional books we read or the end of the world movies we have seen. Humanity tends to get carried away with the theme of humans saving themselves from the predicament of global disaster. No sir, the end of the world or end of the age has everything to do with the wrath of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, The Make of the universe and creator of all life.
Those who have ignored Jesus Christ and the clear warnings of scripture have put themselves into the peril of eternal destruction. Those who rejected the world and embraced Jesus Christ will receive eternal life and escape the judgment of God's wrath upon the earth. It is clear that the saints of God will be persecuted by antichrist. The antichrist makes war against the saintsThe devil himself will possess antichrist to make war against the saints of God who hold the testimony of Jesus. But it's also clear that the saints of God are not appointed unto the wrath of God.
It appears that the rapture of the saints will occur before the wrath of God. It's clear from Matthew 24 and Luke 21 that the antichrist will be revealing himself as told by Daniel 9:27 in the middle of the last seven years of Daniel's 70th week.
Those who believe in a Pre-Trib rapture generally believe that the wrath of God includes the persecution of antichrist. Those who understand from prophetic scriptures that antichrist will make war against the saints are preparing to survive such a time of persecution and darkness.
There is much debate about when the rapture takes place. But there is also some agreement among certain groups of scholars who study the Biblical prophetic scriptures. Premillenial believers agree that there will be a rapture and that there is a future millennial reign of Christ (a literal 1000 years), while others believe that the 1000 years is more symbolic and that we are in it now.
While the Pre-wrath position may not agree with pre-trib, mid-trib or post trib rapture ideas, it does appear to be the most harmonious and accurate interpretation of the deliverance of the saints. While we can disagree on the timing of the rapture it is critical that we do not let it cause us to have in-fighting in the church.
If we are truly believers in Christ what are the signs of His coming that we will see? Scripture is clear that the moon will turn red, the sun will turn black, and then we will see the sign of the coming of the son of man with the clouds of heaven. It is after these signs that Jesus sends his angels out to gather the saints.
We can also expect to see the antichrist impose the mark of the beast (666 whatever that means) upon on all those who are part of the antichrist Kingdom. If one does not have the mark then they will not be able to buy or sell food or anything else in the public global arena. With the existence of a database and a simple number to identify every human it can be seen how this system would be easy to implement.
Pre-tribbers believe they will be absent for the persecution of the saints while pre-wrath rapture proponents are certain they will go through this time and are taking the time now to prepare. It does seem that things are not getting better in the economy and that government seems to be getting more and more controlling over the people. If we believe that we should prepare for persecution of antichrist then we will be prepared as much as possible regardless of how things go.
