103 12
Dead Accounts has been written by Theresa Rebeck, and will be directed by three times Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien.
Furthermore, established theater actor Norbert Leo Butz will be joining the cast as Jack, Lorna's brother.
With such impressive names included in the team, the play can safely be predicted as a roaring success.
The Story Dead Accounts is the story of a Midwestern family in Cincinnati.
The head of the family is bedridden while Lorna, the daughter, is there to take care of him.
The golden boy of the family, Jack, returns after many years, much to the surprise of Lorna and their mother.
Jack had always been considered as the prodigal son, and is married to a rich New Yorker.
His father in law also happens to be his boss.
Sensing the inevitable failure of his marriage, and deducing that his career would go down the toilet soon after, Jack does something he shouldn't and runs home to Cincinnati.
His wife comes looking, and soon finds herself among the Midwestern family.
Meanwhile, Lorna has problems of her own.
She is a single woman struggling in her career and trying to lose weight.
She is the one who has ended up taking care of mom and dad while all her other siblings are away.
When jack comes back, she is constantly reminded by her mother how her brother is better than her.
As the name of the play suggests, the central theme is what Jack did at the bank where he worked and why he had to run away.
Lorna's character is also of equal importance, and so is her story.
Lorna and Jack are the two leading characters, with their love interests and family playing a secondary role.
There are only five characters in the play, and the story has been written in such a way that it accommodates each character justly.
The dialogues and situations are funny, and many people will find different aspects of the story relatable..
An interesting aspect of this comedy is that it does not make fun of the characters and does not try too hard to put them in funny situations.
The dialogues are the strongest aspect of the play, and it is rightfully expected that the performances will be excellent.
Theatergoers are anxiously awaiting the show's premier.
Opening Night Dead Accounts will begin on 3rd November in Music Box Theatre on Broadway.
