Hakuba Information
- Hakuba hosted ski jumping, super G and downhill skiing events during the 1998 Winter Olympics, which took place in Nagano. The Olympics left a solid infrastructure for Hakuba, making travel throughout the valley convenient. As of 2010, the ski jump stadium is still standing.
- Hakuba has more than 25 hotels, lodges, chalets and villas to choose from. Ski packages, including accommodations, are available through most travel agencies.
- Hakuba's ski season runs from early December to late April. Winter weather patterns in Hakuba come from Siberia, dropping an ample 36 feet of snow on the valley per year. Hakuba is also a popular tourist destination after the snow has melted, as the region offers attractive hiking and sightseeing opportunities, including museums and ancient Japanese temples.
