Breeding Angelfish - Feeding Angelfish Fry
Breeding angelfish can be very difficult, but I am here to simplify it.
At least the knowledge you need to have to feed your angelfish fry correctly.
Since your baby angelfish are very small, brine shrimp, a common angelfish food, will be too big even if they have recently hatched.
Since brine shrimp are too large for the fry to consume, you should feed them brine shrimp eggs.
The fry should be in their own rearing aquarium when you begin feeding them.
Make sure the fish are acclimated to the new water by leaving them in it for one or two hours also.
The fry actually break free from the egg with a yoke sac and can live for about one day before eating is necessary.
We recommend that you feed your new baby angelfish very frequently.
They should have food in them constantly.
But as with any fish, feeding them so often makes the water dirty.
The water therefore should be replaced every so often.
80% - 90% should be changed.
After the angelfish have reached about three weeks old, you can add flake food, and fry starter number 2, in small increments.
You can gradually increase the quantity of dry food that is used feeding them.
After a couple weeks on this diet, you can introduce freeze dried foods to the diet.
After six weeks, if you have fed your fish properly they should be about a half inch in length.
After about ten weeks, the fish can be switched over to flake, and freeze dried foods alone.
