Beliefs - Bridges, Obstacles, & Barriers
On page 189 of Eckhart Tolle's book, he says: "...
every belief is an obstacle.
" Certainly erroneous and limiting beliefs are obstacles.
When however are beliefs empowering? And if they ever are or can be, is not Eckhart's comment incorrect? As for me, my understanding is as follows: Beliefs are potentially bridges, obstacles, and barriers.
1.
Your faith becomes effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you, considering you were made in the Creator's image and carry His essence.
2.
Faith comes by hearing your Creator's Word (written and spoken to your spirit), which imparts life empowering you to be and become.
3.
Erroneous beliefs are proven false through the testing of time in life's laboratory.
4.
Circumstantial pressure puts you in life's crucible, showing you your need of your Creator to transcend tribulation and experience inward spiritual transformation.
5.
Limiting beliefs dwarf your personhood and diminish your potential, causing you to spiral downward in disillusionment and disappointment.
6.
Illusory and delusional beliefs if perceived to be credible can thwart andlimit your reality, altering both your identity and ultimately your destiny.
7.
Divine knowings, deep spiritual feelings, and supernatural experiences go beyond belief.
Developing a set of beliefs often begins during our childhood, when parents try to instill their own beliefs within us.
Yet as we live ourselves and test such beliefs, we keep and discard them accordingly based upon their effectiveness in our own life.
Connecting with your Creator beyond mental assent to a set of beliefs, occurs and comes from the heart.
Logic is nowhere near, neither is reasoning.
Inwardly you simply feel, divinely know, and allow your spirit to follow.
As your spirit draws near to God, the Creator simultaneously draws near to you.
Hence begins divine relationship, which by far transcends and surpasses the futility of man-made religion.
