How to Make Ghosts Out of Brooms for Yard Decorations
- 1). Cut a small hole in the exact center of an old white sheet, wide enough for a piece of thin rope to fit through.
- 2). Remove the brush end of an old broom so only the broomstick remains. Some broom ends may pop off easily while others need removal with a saw.
- 3). Lay the broomstick on a flat surface such as the floor or table. Place a ball such as a soccer or volleyball in the center area of the broomstick.
- 4). Bind the ball to the broomstick with thin rope approximately 6 ft. long. Form a loop around the ball and broomstick with one end of the rope and knot it. Begin wrapping the remaining section of rope around the ball and broomstick. Vary the direction of the rope around the objects as you go to create a net-like structure. Tie off with another knot. Ensure there's enough rope left to provide hang from a tree.
- 5). Place the sheet over the ball and broomstick, threading the remaining rope through the hole in the center. The broomstick gives the ghost shoulders while the ball forms the head. Draw on a face with permanent marker if desired.
- 6). Repeat the process for as many ghosts as you desire for your Halloween yard display.
