There are some natural treatments available for counteracting this problem.
The most common herbs that are known to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss include grape seed extract, saw palmetto, basil extract, pumpkin seed and green tea extract just to name a few of them.
A lot of conventional Chinese herbs are also proven to be extremely effective in controlling hair fall.
If these natural cures do not seem to be very effective, the next alternative is to try out some over the counter medications which may help prevent hair fall.
These include Minoxidil- this is a lotion which you spray on to the scalp two times a day and it is proven to be quite effective in preventing hair fall and aids in growth of new hair.
Fiasteride - this is an oral medicine which contains a synthetic hormone which helps to stop hair fall and promote growth.
The other common hair loss medicines are Proscar, Retin -A, Rogaine and the list goes on.
But it will be always better to use any kind of such medications only after consulting your doctor as you can avoid unnecessary risks this way.
