We all want to have a good job, good promotions, good remuneration package and good working environment for us to grow to higher level. Basically, we want a stable and secured job. But, does this luxury still exist today?

If you want to do well in your job, you need to have a strategy to guide you to work more productively. Your boss is going to evaluate your performance so you need to be able to perform well and meet your boss or manager's expectations.

Firstly, your strategy must revolve around your boss expectations. So, the first thing you need to do is to sit down and communicate with your boss. Find out the goals or achievements your boss want. Remember that your boss would likely to have a boss as well. Therefore, you need to understand what are the goals that you guys need to accomplish as a team.

With this strategy, you are treating your boss as a team player and vice versa. By understanding your boss expectations, you can also minimize conflicts and misunderstanding. This strategy will not work if there is always conflict between you and your boss. If you find that you always have conflict with your boss, it is time for you to seriously consider to move to another group or department that is managed by another boss. If that is not possible, then perhaps it is time for you to look for a new job. Because you cannot achieve much if you cannot work together with your boss as a team.

Also, it's important that you don't just languish in a job you really don't like, doing work you aren't happy with. You need a job you can enjoy and do well in. If your job doesn't meet those parameters, it's time to set goals toward getting a new or better job.

When your boss sets a goal for you, it could easily mean he sees great things in your future and wants to push you to greater heights. Take that goal as a serious opportunity to show your boss what you can do. It's not a punishment. It's a chance at more! If you find that you don't have the skills needed to accomplish the goals that had been set for you, sit down and talk to your boss. Make sure your boss understands that you are committed to do well. And if you do well, this will benefit your boss and the entire organization as a whole.

Second, it is very important that you are clear on the goals that you have been assigned to. Make it cystal clear! If in doubt, schedule a time and discuss the goals and strategies over with your boss. When you take your goals seriously and commit to them, your boss and others will notice.

Third, first thing first. Another strategy I want to share with you in order to do well in your job is to focus on the most urgent thing first, rather than the important ones. Urgent things need to get done first. If you do this the other way round, you will find that your works got piled up quickly and you will fall behind schedule. So, focus on completing the most urgent tasks first!

It doesn't have to be stressful. Staying focused on your goals and ensuring that you meet them is something you can plan in detail. Breaking your objective into smaller steps can help you ease the stress.

We have shared with you a lot of great tips and strategies you can use to help you perform well in your job. If you strive for peak performance, your boss and other managers will treat you as a true asset of the company. As a result, your market value will increase and you will get many chances for promotions and better rewards.
