Baby Shower Favor Crafts
- For each candy pacifier, you will need 1 jellybean, 2 mint ring-shaped hard candies (mint for the neutral color), icing and ribbon. Put the icing into a pastry bag with a small tip. If you don't have a pastry bag, you could place the icing into a plastic sandwich bag, push the icing to one corner, and clip a small hole in that corner with scissors. Cover one side of one of the hard candies with icing, then place the other candy on top of the icing, so that they create a "T" shape. Let it dry, then cover the other side of the first hard candy with icing, adding a jellybean to the top. Let it dry overnight. Once dry, slide the candy pacifier through a necklace-length piece of ribbon and tie the end. Average necklace sizes are between 16" and 20" long.
- Make baby bootie cups to hold candy, nuts or other small gifts that you are giving your guests as party favors. For each bootie cup, you need a plastic foam cup, hole-punch, ribbon, clear nail polish and scissors. Cut one inch off the top of the foam cup. Cut a slit down the top of the cup, until it reaches about one inch above the bottom. Create a second slit parallel to the first slit, spaced about 1.5 inches apart. Fold the cup down between the two slits to create the tongue of the shoe, and bring the sides in to create flaps. Punch a hole on either side of the flaps. Brush clear nail polish inside each hole and set aside to dry. When it is dry, lace ribbon through the holes and tie a bow like you would a baby bootie.
- Make washcloth bunnies for your guests to bring home by using small washcloths, rubber bands, ribbon, wiggle eyes, pom-poms and glue. Fold the washcloth in half diagonally to make a triangle, then roll it, starting from the small point and ending on the long side. Bend the washcloth in the middle to form a "U" shape and use one hand to press in two of the ends together, towards the middle of the "U" shape. With your other hand, tie a rubber band around the section you are holding to make the pointed ends face up, creating bunny ears. Glue the wiggly eyes and pom-poms for the eyes and nose of the bunny, then cover the rubber band by tying a ribbon around it. The back part of the bunny can be used to tuck in candy, lip gloss or nail polish to be given as party favors.
- Make baby shower favors with crispy rice and marshmallow treats, melted chocolate, food coloring, baby-themed cake decorations and lollipop sticks. First, insert a lollipop stick into a crispy rice and marshmallow treat. Add food coloring to your melted chocolate and stir until you get your desired color. Dip the lollipop treat into the melted chocolate to coat it, then place it on wax paper and press a cake decoration onto the treat. Let it cool, then place the lollipop into a treat bag and tie a ribbon around it.
