Marine Bootcamp Graduation - Surviving USMC Boot Camp and Graduating As a Marine

103 25
Marine bootcamp graduation is something that not all of those that start basic training will see.
In fact the majority won't as many will be weeded out at various points throughout.
Here are three tips to help you get from day one all the way through to graduation.
1)      Don't piss off the drill instructors.
This should be your absolute number one priority.
The drill instructors are there to weed you out, and if you piss them off, that's exactly what they'll do.
While it's technically possible to be a pain in the ass for the DI's and still pass, the extra heat they'll bring down on you is more trouble than you want.
So always do whatever it takes to stay on their good side.
2)      Get exceptionally fit BEFORE you go to boot camp.
A high degree of physical fitness is an absolute must for getting through basic training, and if you're out of shape or overweight, the drill instructors' job is to fix that, and fix it they will.
Going in overweight or out of shape is setting yourself up for a hard, hard time from the DI's, so get fit enough to meet all standards well before you go into boot camp.
3)      Get mentally tough and learn to find the best in gruelling situations.
Boot camp is going to be hard, very hard.
You're going to be pushed, pulled and dragged through the mud and the drill instructors are going to be on you constantly.
Be prepared for the mental games and the grilling the DI's are going to give you, and learn to take negative situations and look at them as opportunities.
USMC boot camp is exceptionally tough, but you can make it through if you know what to expect.
Going in cold without any knowledge of the task at hand is asking for failure, so prepare yourself as much as possible.
