Samui Ferry - Unique Way to Really Explore the Outlying Archipelago
I realized recounting my adventures in Southeast Asia was something I've neglected to do for a while; therefore I thought it was about time that changed (especially with three good friends of mine planning trips there this summer - cue intense + undeniable jealousy). For those of you who haven't been reading from the beginning, the idea of this blog was born while I was on this trip with one of my most excellent friends last summer. Yup, you heard correctly, last summer and I still haven't posted all my favorite photographs, told all my tell able stories, offered my hints + tips, reviewed every places I stayed at…and people tell me I don't procrastinate.
The journey started in Thailand. I arrived in Bangkok a few hours before my girlfriend therefore I got to spend a night out having dinner with another friend who was conveniently there on exchange. We dined at Cabbages & Condoms, a restaurant founded by a Thai politician + activist to promote safe sex practices and the use of condoms. A huge concept with amazing food, no wonder it's internationally renowned. It was my first taste of genuine Thai cuisine + of course wasn't my last!
The three of us met near the beginning the next morning at the airport to catch our flight to Koh Samui, an island off the east coast by Surat Thani. From there we hopped on a Samui Ferry to Koh Phangan, the home of the Full Moon Party. I considered this Koh Samui to Koh Tao ride the official start of the trip. The good-looking blue water, the white sand beaches, the palm trees, the multi-colored overwater bungalows + the overall beauty and serenity of it all was exactly how I imagined Thailand.
Koh Samui, Thailand is continuously evolving as the desired spot for vacation among countless tourists. In just an extremely short period of time, this blissful island has totally developed from vagueness to one of the prevailing destinations for tourists around the world.
Koh Samui is settled 80 kilometers away from the seashore of Surat Thani. Right after the island of Phuket and the island of Koh Chong, this is the tertiary voluminous island in the country of Thailand. This place can reach by plane or Samui Ferry. If you are starting to travel at Singapore or Bangkok, you will reach your destination in the island in less than 10 minutes. On the other hand, if you admire to travel through waters, then using a Samui Ferry starting from Tha Thong will bring you to Koh Samui in two hours. There, you will be gladly received by the efficiently swaying trees of palm.
In spite of the fast pace of development, Ko Samui has been able to maintain its charm its classical image of a tropical beach resort fringed by coconut trees. Travelers to the island can take pleasure in a mixed blessing of vibrant day and nightlife along side with tranquility which can easily be found across different parts of Ko Samui as the archipelago is a peaceful home for fishermen and a natural den for seagulls and other rare birds.
