Holidays in Cyprus, Limassol-style

101 18
Cyprus has been a desirable holiday destination for many decades, and it's clear to see why. Pristine beaches, stunning views, and a laid back attitude, not to mention the luxury hotels Cyprus has to offer, all combine beautifully to create holidays to remember.

In times past, people have made their way to Cyprus from mainland Europe, usually from the Turkish town of Tasucu, but it is common for travellers to now fly to Cyprus into one of its two international airports: Paphos and Larnaca. A host of major airlines fly direct to Paphos and Larnaca from Britain's main airports, including budget airlines such as Easyjet. However, if you're choosing to go on your holidays in Cyprus, then there's a strong chance you're choosing it because you're looking for luxury, in which case flying on a budget airline may not set the exact tone you're looking for!

While there are many people who will wax lyrical about their favourite cities during their holidays in Cyprus, you won't go too far wrong than choosing one of the hotels in Limassol. If you've never been to Cyprus before, Limassol is the perfect destination for you.

More Than Just a Beach and a Bar

Limassol is like the night sky; the more you look, the more there is to see. It goes without saying that the immaculate beach is the main attraction of the city, making it a popular destination for tourists from around the world. The main Limassol beach stretches over several kilometres, while there are a number of other smaller beaches in the area, including Ladies Mile Beach and the Kourion Beach at Episkopi. If you can manage to prise yourself away from the warm white sands, a world of culture and history awaits you.

Limassol has long stood as an area of historical and archaeological significance in Cyprus and the city is proud of this status, with museums and ancient ruins open to visitors.  A huge attraction, especially to families with children, is the Limassol Zoo Garden, where a menagerie of around 300 exotic animals are on display every day.

Where to Stay

After a day of sunbathing, sightseeing and lion-taming (possibly!), you'll want to come back to a place you know you can relax. Happily, Limassol is home to some of the best luxury hotels Cyprus has to offer. The tourism industry has ensured that many hotels in Limassol understand the requirements of the holidaymakers, and make polite, efficient service a hallmark of their establishment. Finding hotels in Limassol that combine excellent furnishing, delicious food and creature comforts isn't hugely difficult, and if you shop around, you're sure to find the place that's perfect for you.
