    • 1). If you notice a group of children singing Christmas carols, reward them with small change or a piece of candy.

    • 2). Take a walk to the town square and gaze upon the nativity scene that is sure to be set up there. Spain's nativities are famous all over the world for their intricacy and beauty.

    • 3). Shop in a Christmas market. Spanish towns and villages typically feature a market that springs up specifically for Christmas, boasting holiday food, decorations, candles and other Christmas-related items.

    • 4). On Christmas Eve, light an oil lamp and place it in your windowsill.

    • 5). Wait until midnight, then eat your Christmas dinner. Make sure the meal is extravagant (turkey works well), and get plenty to eat. These dinners are known to last until dawn.

    • 6). After dinner, gather around a Christmas tree with your loved ones and sing Christmas carols together.

    • 7). On Christmas morning, attend a Christmas service at a local church.

    • 8). Exchange a few gifts on Christmas day.

    • 9). On December 31, enjoy another large meal with your loved ones.

On January 5, attend the parade that welcomes the Three Wise Men to town. In Spain, it is the Three Wise Men--not Santa Claus--who bring gifts at Christmas. If you have children, have them set out shoes near the window for the Three Wise Men to put gifts in.
