Ways to Love

Love is a many splendored thing, or so the song goes.
In life, quite a number of things are much harder when said than done, and in my own opinion, much easier when written than said.
Years ago, the love letters littered school lobbies, classrooms and canteens.
Whatever happened to the writing fever? Today, gone were the days of scribbling sweet nothings.
Text messages and email and social network posts are the fad of the day.
But has the luster of love letters truly went down the drain? It used to be that when a young man thought of a lovely lady by the next door, the lady's window would littered by notes, letters and card of all sorts.
It used to be that when birthdays came, whether its mom or dad, card and short letters always go with nicely wrapped gifts.
It used to be that on anniversaries and so-called "month-sarries", cards and letters deliver a message of truthfulness and fidelity.
What happened to the days of old? Now, there are plenty of ways that love is shown.
They say that love makes the world round and that love finds a way.
Has love truly found a way to wiggle itself out of the old-fashioned trend of letter writing and entered into the world of "virtual relationships" where even lovers never saw each other yet? Has love really evolved into one that is almost next to animosity? Has love evolved into a widely misinterpreted concept of nothing but an emotional felling reduced from its virgin origin of a "choice that ones makes.
" Whatever happened to the phrase "love is patient.
" But what really are ways to show love? Is it really confined to space? Or does love transcend through time and space? Here are ways that I believe show love.
1.
Patting someone on the shoulder when something good is accomplished.
Love is not just a word, it is most of the time an action.
It is a felt-need that everybody deserves to have.
2.
A smile given to someone even in the point of giving up.
Love is not a concept; it is a seen and real essence.
It is not a doctrine, it not a religion.
Love is an entity and a reality.
3.
A need that is provided.
Love reaches out and it touches.
It is not only word whispered, it comes in all forms.
To the impoverished, it comes in monetary form; to the hungry, it comes as bread; to the thirsty it comes as a glass of water.
There are endless ways to show love.
Endless.
So it never ends.
It doesn't know any boundary, it has no borders.
Let it remain that way.
For you and me, and for the next generation.
