This heart rate monitor is very low profile and made of rubber, and the strap that accompanies it is like spandex and is easily adjustable. I can tell you from what I have experienced that you won't notice it's there while you are exercising. This is also a wireless device, so that means no wires are going to be hanging off of you.
The Concept 2 design uses a flywheel assembly that you will use to generate the resistance and feel of rowing. The flywheel is enclosed in a fittingly designed housing for safety reasons. You will be able to change the resistance for more challenging or lighter rowing. There are also no concerns with noise as the overall rower is virtually silent during rowing. The flywheel rotates when you row, and it creates a soft air movement that is extremely quiet. This moving air sound from the flywheel assembly is like a fan that is running at a very low speed setting. Unless the person in the other room is an extremely light sleeper, you will have no issues with stirring up other people.
