Croatia - Country With Beautiful Blue Sea

Croatia has the most indented coast in the world. Adriatic coast stretches from Savudrija peninsula in the northwest to Prevlaka peninsula in the southeast. Adriatic coast is 5835km long and contains 1246 islands, islets, rocks and cliffs as well as many bays, coves, portages and peninsulas. Largest peninsulas are the Istria and Peljesac. Except by a beautiful clear sea, Croatian coast offers diverse rocky, pebble and sandy beaches.The main events for the young Croatian state occurred on the 30th May in 1990 when the Croatian Parliament was formed and the Declaration of independence on the 25th June 1991.

Croatia is located in the southern part of Central Europe on the northern geographic hemisphere. Its land area is 56.542; according to the census in 2011, the Croatian population has reached 4.290.612 people. Often near the beaches there are cafe bars, restaurants and playgrounds for children. Numerous islands with their coves still hide unseen beaches, far away from population and traffic. Coast is one of the most desirable tourist destinations across Europe.

The oldest and biggest tourist camp in Europe is Koversada in Istria. Resort Solaris and Valalta in Rovinj are popular places to spend good time. The biggest urban centers on the coast are Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Sibenik, Split and Dubrovnik. In such cities there are museums, monuments of secular and sacral architecture from ancient and newer historic periods.

Adriatic Sea is very shallow. In North of city Pula, the depth doesn't go farther than 50m and in north of Zadar it doesn't go farther than 100m. In the south part of the Adriatic Sea there is a hollow which causes very steep increase in depth of the sea. The highest depth is that of 1233m.

Adriatic Sea is very warm sea, summer temperatures vary between 22C and 25C and during winter from 5C to 15C. Sea currents are mild and of weak intensity. Sea is rich with diverse flora and fauna. There are many species of fish, mammals, algae, molluscs, crabs, sponges and other kinds.

According to winds, the most known are "bura" - wind that carries cold, "jugo" - carries moisture and "maestral" that soothes dry weathers in summer. Croatian islands are one of the most beautiful islands in Europe. The largest islands are Cres, Krk, Brac, Hvar, Pag, Korcula, Dugi Otok, Mljet, Vis and Rab. Many towns on islands have the antique monuments, art engraved in stone, wood, canvas and beautiful architecture.
