Herb Garden Information
- Some herbs can be grown from either seed or transplants while others need to be grown from seed only. Check with your nursery while you are in the planning stages for your herb garden.
- Herbs can be grown for a multitude of purposes including seasoning dishes, making tea and infusing oils. They can even be used as border outdoors, along a pathway.
- Some herb leaves can be harvested on an ongoing basis. However, if they're planted outdoors, one final harvest may need to be done to avoid freezing the plant.
- Herbs can be frozen for months or dried and kept in an air-tight container for up to 1 year.
- Instead of trying to grow every herb you like, narrow down your selection. Consider growing the herbs that are most expensive or hard to find at the store so you can get the most bang for your buck and your time.
