By understanding the causes of adrenal fatigue and what you can do about it, you can go a long way towards managing your symptoms of early menopause in a healthy and effective manner.
Adrenal fatigue as a catalyst for the symptoms of pre menopause Adrenal fatigue is characterized by low stamina and body exhaustion that does not improve even with a good night's sleep.
In other words, this condition is an endless, unexplainable feeling of exhaustion even though you have done nothing particularly stressful.
Adrenal fatigue is called as such because it is rooted in the adrenal glands - the glands that produce the stress hormone cortisol, which is responsible for the fight or flight response during stressful situations.
In small amounts, the adrenal glands are also responsible for the production of the hormone progesterone.
When the adrenal glands are constantly overworked and struggling to produce cortisol, they release a substance called dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in smaller amounts.
DHEA is responsible for moderating the hormone balance in the body.
It is also derived from progesterone, which is why it becomes a problem when progesterone levels begin to plummet during the onset of menopause.
If there is not enough progesterone, the cortisol glands cannot produce enough DHEA.
Insufficient amounts of DHEA cause fatigue, depression, aching joints, and loss of strength.

Our adrenal glands work overtime whenever we are faced with a constant source of stress.
Combined with poor nutrition, lack of sleep, and the unsuccessful attempt to make up for the crashing progesterone levels, the adrenal glands are literally too exhausted to function well.
While there may be some days where you cannot tear yourself away from your desk, do try to take it easy every once in a while.
Get a full body massage after a long day's work, or spend your evenings and evenings doing things that relax you.
Schedule your events so you don't feel too overwhelmed, and avoid bringing work home as much as possible.
Caffeine We drink coffee to wake up and stay alert throughout the day, not knowing that caffeine actually aggravates our adrenal glands.
Although coffee contains antioxidants that can get rid of free radicals, it also has the ability to deceive the adrenal glands into thinking that we need more of its help.
Whenever we get tired, adenosine levels increase and binds into the brain's receptor to tell our cells to slow down.
Caffeine works just like adenosine in that it binds itself to receptors, except that it gives different instructions and tells the cells to speed up and work faster.
This change in pace looks is the signal for the adrenal glands to produce hormones, because it looks like the body is undergoing stress.
Once the effect of caffeine wears out, you feel more tired than you were before you had your coffee.
You then take another cup to keep up your energy levels, not knowing that this actually makes things worse.
Although you don't necessarily have to stop having your morning coffee, it would be good to limit your coffee consumption to once a day.
If you really enjoy the taste, go for the decaffeinated variety.
Sleep deprivation Staying up all night also adds stress to the adrenal glands.
Just as our adrenal glands work overtime when faced with stress or triggered by caffeine, so does sleep deprivation make them work longer than they should be.
Insomnia is a common symptom of pre menopause.
