Power Grid And Data Grid Ranges
In recent times the demand for customised switches has increased. Consumers want to be able to be able to have control over their lighting without having a multitude of individual switch plates. Varilight have recently released their new Power Grid range which is designed to deal with this issue. Customers are able to able to choose a frame and faceplate depending on the number of inserts they require and a combination of power grid inserts of their desire.
Depending on the colour scheme of the room; the faceplates come in white, chrome and steel. While the frames are available in 1 gang, 2 gang, 3 gang and 4 gang variations. Its a good idea to think whether there is a possibility that you might want to add an additional insert sometime in the future. If so then you should purchase a larger frame and add a blacking insert(s) to save you having to replace everything in the future.
Its also possible for Power Grid modules to be laser etched with personalised wording. It is best to speak to the retailer regarding your choice and there may be additional costs.
Data Grid inserts vary from retractive, key and intermediate switches to dimmers, flex outlets and indicator modules. Essentially, the majority of Varilight products are available as inserts. The inserts too can be purchased in black and white so you can match it with your faceplate. Data Grid faceplates however are available in every finish available as standard switches are as well as every design; classic, screwless and ultraflat.
If you require dimming to lighting that has been fitted with LED bulbs then dont worry. Make sure that you get the multi-purpose dimmer inserts that are suitable for low voltage applications. It might also sound obvious but make sure that the LEDs you are using are also dimmable. Also take note that modules in both ranges take up different amounts of module spaces within the frame, most switches take only 1 space while Triplex TV modules for example take up 3 spaces.
Both ranges are ideal to complement modern lighting setups or in situations where the user requires multiple control of a variety of different lights such as chandeliers or ceiling lights.
The Data Grid range contains mainly networking, video and audio modules such as telephone and TV outlets. These modules are compatible with the newer Power Grid range. Both ranges are used equally in commercial and residential situations.
